Growing Blue Spruce

I've heard that growing Blue Spruce is quite a tricky science, not that it's tough to grow them i guess, but it's tough to get them to grow. I've got some young pinecones, and i'd like to give it a shot.

My parrents have always had 2 bluespruce in thier backyard, both trees are very old (40+feet tall) to i wasn't able to get the pinecones, until now. A freak windstorm took off some branches a few weeks ago, and i got 7 very sticky pinecones. The seeds appear to be still inside.

I've heard multiple things about blue spruce, the most disheartening of which was that the cones only opened in a forest-fire (or conditions that simulated it) I guess that's what i need to do, but i'm either using the wrong terminology on google, or it's not a very commonly used bit of information.

If anyone can help, i'd love to get some blue spruce growing. They're amazing trees, and i cannot find any help on the internet on what to do from here.

Thank You
