There are 35 board feet in the example, but you knew that. Incase you guessed 10'x21"=210; then / 12=17.5; then 17.5x2"=35 BFT. Or you can do it this way (length in inches 120 x width in inches 21 divide by 144, then multiply by thickness in inches.)
